The recent political events in the world have created a big issue as far as immigration is concerned. Most of these immigrations are in the European Countries. Though there are many reasons behind these migrations such as better job opportunities and better living etc. however the most recent immigrations have been more due to desperation rather than whims and desires. Most of the immigrations are from Syria recently which is a country that has been struck with worst political crisis in its history. The emergence of terror organizations like ISIS has really made the life of the people difficult their due to constant terror activities and lack of basic needs of life.
France and Immigration:
France is one of the most well developed countries of Europe and is also considered as one of the most literate country of the world. The recent political crisis in Syria have put all the European countries in a very strange situation as the number of refugees are too many and there are numerous European countries that simply cannot manage so many immigrants.
France is the country which opened its doors for Syrian refugees at the time of crises and at the moment there are many Syrians currently living in France. Apart from France these refuges also went to other countries of the world like Saudi Arabia and Norway as well. France is already home to many immigrants from other countries of the world whether it is Algeria, Pakistan or India etc. A country catering so many immigrants already must be facing difficulty as far as the Syrian influx is concerned.
According to a recent survey which was done on the streets of France almost 57% of the population is of the opinion that the country has become a hub of too many immigrants. According to another survey, France has become a country which has the most negative views on immigration and migrants. According to Ipsos which is one of the most well-known polling institutes, out of 10 almost 6 people are of the view that France had a negative impact due to massive immigrations.
The Survey also pointed out that at the moment there are only 11% people in France which think that immigration is positive for the country. As opposed to it 54% of the people were of the opinion that immigration has caused a forced change in their country and this change was not wished by them at all.
There are many reasons behind this sharp rise in negativity towards immigration and some of the most common reasons behind this phenomenon are as follows:
- The media has highlighted the refugees and immigrants which has created the fear of integration. 63% of people in France were of the view that refuges would not be able to integrate
- France is a country which is hit by unemployment; hence the locals are of the fear that the immigrants will capture the available jobs if they have better competencies and skills.
The immigration study was not only limited to France rather other countries of the world were also surveyed in this regard.
